Overview

Kinopark Theatres with its network of Kinoplexx cinema theaters is the largest cinema theatrical company in Central Asia. At present, the Kinopark Theatres network has 72 halls and 10,147 seats.

Our task was to redesign existing website and deliver artifacts such as competitive analysis, UI Kit, UI design both for desktop and mobile devices and the interactive prototypes for both platforms.

My individual responsibility included conducting a UX research (survey, observation, competitive analysis, information gathering/analysis), UI design (including UI kit) and prototyping. My business partner Almas Tuyakbayev was responsible for UX research as well, and for business part of the project (time, cost etc).

Problem statement

Despite the fact that Kinopark theatres was the leading company in their field, they used to have old-styled and unappealing website, thus they needed to upgrade it.

In other words, the main issues were:

• Technically and stylistically outdated website that restrained any chance for improvement
• A poor user experience that had a direct impact on low conversion rates
• Inconsistent and "non-selling” design that did not match the status of the company

Thus, our task was to fix the problems above and design a website that will perfectly work both for the business and for the users.
